This Wednesday, January 29th we will be hosting a training session for anyone who wishes to volunteer at the Windsor Spitfires home games at the WFCU Centre. 
 
Life After Fifty (LAF) is happy to support the Windsor Spitfires by providing approximately 20 volunteers (to be ushers and ticket takers) for each home game and then in return, a portion of the ticket proceeds go to LAF to support our programming.
 
The season is currently part way through, as it began in September and will end in March. The home games occur at the WFCU Centre on Thursday evenings, some Sunday afternoon games and the odd Saturday evening game.  Our volunteers are expected to show up approximately 2 hours before the game and we are the last to leave the arena. 
 
Everyone who wishes to volunteer will be required to attend a training session that is provided by the Windsor Spitfires in order to help you learn about the safety rules in the arena. Volunteers will not be able to volunteer at the games until they have completed this required training.

Director of Programs and Services
Permanent Full-time 

The Director of Programs and Services strategically stewards the delivery of programs and 
services consistent with best practices for Life After Fifty. They are responsible for leading the 
staff team in planning, implementation and evaluation of programs. Supervision of staff and 
performance management are essential roles. The Director would also be the lead on 
developing community partnerships including with ethno-cultural groups and seniors and grant 
writing to enhance delivery of programs and services.

Together we have raised 180 jars of peanut butter and 540 boxes of Kraft Dinner this winter for our annual food drive. LAF would like to say Thank You to everyone who contributed!

Special thanks to Weight Watchers Windsor for participating and collecting in our food drive and collecting at two locations in Windsor. Your donations were greatly appreciated!

Also, special thanks to CBC for inviting us to be part of the Sounds of the Season food drive. We especially appreciate CBC for allowing us to keep our commitment to our local west end food banks - the St. Vincent de Paul and Windsor Homes Coalition.
